What we do

Kapernikov is a technology integrator founded in Leuven, Belgium in 2011 by three civil engineering graduates from KU Leuven. We started by helping utility companies manage master data for their physical assets, and today we focus entirely on AI-first asset data management for infrastructure managers.

We help rail and marine infrastructure managers bring order to their data. Asset data is often spread across many systems—maintenance, operations, planning—with no single source of truth. Our InfraVentory product ingests delta streams from multiple source systems, performs identity management without shared IDs, and publishes unified data to downstream consumers. It is deployed in production as Asset360 at Infrabel, where it underpins the only running implementation of the ERA Railway Ontology.

The “Linked Data ++” Difference:
Traditional master data management assumes clear ownership, common identifiers, and a central authority. Our approach is built for the messy reality of infrastructure—where multiple systems of record coexist and ownership changes throughout the asset lifecycle.

Agentic AI, Applied:
We use LLMs and agents to accelerate both software development and data management. That means turning unstructured engineering documents into structured asset data, automating schema mapping and entity resolution, and shipping working software faster with agentic coding workflows. We practice this on our own delivery and on the agentic coding training sessions that draw infrastructure-sector engineers (recently nearly ten from Infrabel)—and we transfer the practice to your team.
